On August 7, the Provincial Party Committee Office of Khánh Hòa Province announced that it has sent a document to the Nha Trang City Party Committee regarding the implementation of the Conclusion of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board on the Scheme for Organizing and Developing Road Transport in Nha Trang City.
Currently, Nha Trang City has developed the Scheme for Organizing and Developing Road Transport in Nha Trang City by 2030 and towards 2040.
The Scheme was developed with the goal of closely following practicality, forecasting, and proposing solutions to organize and develop road transport in Nha Trang City in the short and long term.
According to the conclusion of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board, it is agreed to build a tunnel on Trần Phú Street - Nha Trang. The Provincial Party Committee requests the Nha Trang City Party Committee to lead the People's Committee of Nha Trang City, the consulting unit, to specifically determine the suitable and feasible section of the route and propose a phased investment plan to ensure effectiveness; report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision-making in accordance with the authority and in accordance with the law.
In the short term, the Provincial Party Committee requests the Nha Trang City Party Committee to lead the People's Committee of Nha Trang City to research and propose to the Provincial People's Committee the early investment in a tunnel combined with a parking lot at 2/4 Square.
The Provincial Party Committee requests the research and proposal of a feasible and effective mechanism and policy to encourage investment in building parking lots (underground and on the ground) combined with business and trade services to attract socialization. Research and supplement into the Scheme solutions and plans for organizing public transportation during large events and activities that have the potential to cause traffic congestion.
Still according to the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board of Khánh Hòa, the Scheme is currently researching and proposing based on the approved master plans. However, the adjustment of the general urban planning area and the adjustment of the general urban planning area have been delegated to the Provincial People's Committee to implement by the Prime Minister.
Therefore, the consulting unit is requested to take note of this issue to continue researching, calculating, and proposing additional feasible and optimal solutions, if necessary, adjusting the plan to implement.
In addition, the People's Committee of Nha Trang City is responsible for reviewing state-owned houses and land on the city's territory to provide information for the consulting unit to research and propose additional feasible solutions for Nha Trang City's traffic; consider and propose converting the function if necessary.
The Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board of Khánh Hòa requests the review of additional solutions and plans for organizing traffic in the Scheme to ensure consistency with the idea of the Trần Phú East Park architectural concept, the Nha Trang City Green Transformation and Green Growth Scheme 2024-2030, and the Khánh Hòa Province Digital Transformation Plan implemented in the city.
Noted that no separate traffic management and control center should be built for Nha Trang City, but instead, it should be integrated into the provincial center.
