On July 28, the People's Committee of Can Tho City held a conference to announce the decision on personnel work at the City Land Fund Development Center.

Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Van Lau has signed a Decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tao - Acting Director of the Can Tho City Land Fund Development Center (old) - to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Can Tho City Land Fund Development Center.
Mr. Truong Thanh Dat - Deputy Director of the Can Tho City Land Fund Development Center (old) and Mr. Le Van Thanh - Deputy Director of the Hau Giang Province Land Fund Development Center (old) - were also appointed as Deputy Directors of the Can Tho City Land Fund Development Center. Currently, this agency does not have a director.
The Can Tho City Land Fund Development Center has just been established on the basis of merging 3 Land Fund Development Centers of Can Tho City, Soc Trang Province and Hau Giang Province (old).
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City Tran Chi Hung said that the establishment of the City Land Fund Development Center on the basis of merging 3 units including the Land Fund Development Center of Soc Trang, Hau Giang and Can Tho City, which was formerly the City, is not only a change in organization but also a practical requirement in the context of regional development, aiming to improve the efficiency of land management, in line with the model of local government at 2 levels.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City also emphasized that, as the center of the Mekong Delta, Can Tho City is being assigned greater responsibility, higher requirements for governance and investment attraction. Therefore, unit unification and organizational consolidation are inevitable steps to improve the management capacity of large-scale, multi-sector projects.
At the same time, it is required that the center's leaders urgently perfect the apparatus, develop a specific action program, reform administrative procedures, closely coordinate with departments, localities and enterprises to create a transparent and effective investment environment.
