On October 9, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Notice No. 850/TB-UBND on the revocation of land plots to implement the Nghi Hai Eco-Culinary Area construction investment project of Shanghai Investment Company Limited, with an area of 9,005.4m2 in Cua Lo ward.
According to the records, the project was leased land by the Provincial People's Committee in 2016 and granted a Land Use Rights Certificate on April 11, 2017 to build Nghi Hai Eco-Culinary Area (formerly Nghi Hai Ward, now Cua Lo Ward).
By 2022, the enterprise was granted a 24-month extension, but it has not been completed and put into operation yet.
The Provincial People's Committee determined that the investor's delay in land use violates the provisions of Clause 8, Article 81 of the 2024 Land Law, which is a case of land recovery by the State.
The Provincial People's Committee requires Shanghai Investment Company Limited to be responsible for handling assets on the land within 30 days from the date of issuance of the notice.
After this deadline, if not implemented, the State will reclaim the land without compensation for the land, assets attached to the land and remaining investment costs.
