On the morning of August 19, in Dien Ban Bac ward, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the resettlement area serving the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis.
The project and works aim to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Huy - Director of the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects (DTXD Project Management Board) of Da Nang Transport and Agricultural Works - said that the resettlement area serving the North-South high-speed railway project in Dien Ban Bac ward is a project of special significance, directly serving the compensation, site clearance and resettlement work for the high-speed railway project, a national key project, contributing to the development of urban infrastructure, improving the lives of people in the area.
The project was approved by the Chairman of the City People's Committee in Decision No. 946/QD-UBND dated August 12, 2025, with an investment scale of 4.69 hectares of modern planning, synchronous investment in leveling items; traffic; drainage; water supply, electricity supply, lighting; trees; fire prevention and fighting; communication; with a total investment of 76.189 billion VND from the budget.
In particular, the resettlement area after completion will meet the housing needs of households affected by the High-speed Railway Project, safe land for other projects, contributing to connecting infrastructure and promoting socio-economic development in the locality.
Also at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Phan Thai Binh - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City - informed that the North - South high-speed railway project is a dream and aspiration of many generations, now gradually becoming a reality.
When completed, the project will connect nationwide, shorten time, improve transportation capacity, reduce pressure on road traffic, promote sustainable socio-economic development. At the same time, it affirms the will and strategic vision of the Party and State in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.
In the overall of this national key project, site clearance and resettlement placement play a key role.
Da Nang City has promptly approved the Dien Ban Bac Resettlement Area according to Decision No. 946/QD-UBND dated August 12, 2025 with an area of nearly 47,000m2, with a total investment of more than 76 billion VND from public capital.
When completed, the project will ensure stable, civilized and modern accommodation for affected people. At the same time, it will expand urban space, creating new development momentum for the northern area of the city.
