This morning, August 18, the People's Committee of Da Nang City solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that exactly 80 years ago, on August 19, 1945, during the August Revolution in 1945, the Vietnam People's Public Security force was established, marking the birth of an important armed force, trusted by the Party, the State and the People, and made many outstanding feats in the cause of the national revolution, building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
As a part of the Vietnam People's Public Security (VPA), through the revolutionary periods, from the resistance war against colonialism and imperialism, to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and integrating internationally, the Da Nang City People's Public Security force has continuously grown, achieved many outstanding feats, firmly protected national security, maintained social order and safety, and made important contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
Especially in recent years, the City Police force has proactively advised the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee on many policies and timely solutions, meeting the requirements and tasks of protecting security and order in the area, completing the targets and tasks well, not forming complex "hot spots" of security and order.
Recently, implementing the policy of the Politburo and the Secretariat on the arrangement of administrative units at all levels and building a model of organizing local government at 2 levels, Da Nang City Police have conducted it synchronously, urgently and quickly but still ensured methodical and scientific methods, compliance with the principles and procedures of personnel organization, ensuring sustainability for all activities of the Public Security force.
Focus on directing the implementation of comprehensive digital transformation with specific solutions and roadmaps, focusing on transforming thinking, methods of security and order governance based on digital transformation, and receiving high consensus and support from the people.
Recognizing the great role and strength of the masses, in the cause of ensuring security and order, over the past 20 years, the City Police force has proactively advised the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Party committees and authorities at all levels to gradually perfect the mechanism of "Party leadership, State management, People mastery in the field of protecting security and order at the grassroots level".
Thereby, actively mobilizing all classes of people to participate in the movement "All people protect national security" associated with many campaigns of the city.
Looking back on the glorious 80 years of the Vietnam People's Public Security force and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, the Da Nang City Police force is extremely proud of the feats and great contributions that generations of officers and soldiers have achieved.
With that achievement, the Da Nang City Police force has been awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal by the Party and State and awarded the title of "Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces" to 30 collectives and 31 individuals; many collectives and individuals have been awarded Medals, Medals of various types and many other noble awards.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Luong Nguyen Minh Triet also emphasized that after the merger, Da Nang City has many opportunities, potential and room for development, is a locality that the Central Government has great expectations for with the orientation of becoming a growth pole of Vietnam, with high competitiveness in the Asia - Pacific region, and playing a pioneering role, leading localities in the modern development process.
Da Nang City aims to become an ecological and smart city by 2045, a commercial center, an international financial center, an industrial center, a logistics center, a innovative startup and a livable, classy tourist city in Asia.
To achieve this goal, the police force is trusted by the Party Committee and People of the city to be assigned the responsibility of protecting security and order, creating a safe, friendly, healthy and attractive environment to serve the development of the city. This is an extremely heavy task and also a great honor for the City Police.
