On July 30, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Da Nang City began collecting opinions on the environmental impact assessment report of the Da Nang Downtown Commercial Service Area project.
This consultation aims to ensure transparency and complete environmental protection measures before the project is approved.
According to the environmental impact assessment report of the Da Nang Downtown Commercial Service Area project, the location of the Da Nang Downtown project is in Hoa Cuong ward, the city center, along the Han River, about 4km from Da Nang International Airport and My Khe beach.
This project is located next to 29/3 Square and the riverside park (project under construction).
The highlight in the overall project planning is the 70-storey mixed-use tower on an area of 1.6 hectares, designed as a new symbol of the city.
There will be a high-end serviced apartment complex, a 4-5 star hotel, a shopping mall and an art exhibition space.
In which, the 5-storey base block is the commercial - exhibition center, the basement connects the functional areas.

Notably, the project also has a 10-storey theater on an area of 0.9 hectares, a playground combined with retail and dining services of 2.36 hectares, a 41.3 hectare green park and a 21.6 hectare water surface...
The Da Nang Downtown project has a total capital of more than VND 79,790 billion, of which equity is VND 12,090 billion, the remaining VND 67,670 billion is borrowed from credit institutions. The project is planned on an area of over 769,000 m2, with a progress extending from 2013 to 2035.
In fact, phase 1 of the project has been in operation since 2014 under the name Asia Park, including main items such as Sun Wheel roundabout, indoor and outdoor playground, operator house, landscape works and auxiliary systems.
In May 2024, Asia Park changed the brand identity to Da Nang Downtown. Every day, the park opens from 3pm to 10pm, attracting many visitors.
In the next phase (2025-2035), the project will complete the technical infrastructure and items.
In particular, the 3ha riverside commercial area forms a night-time economy with bars, restaurants, festivals and art performances; the 1.2ha high-rise hotel area with a 15-storey accommodation complex, 2 basements and a hotel, 3-10 floors high conference.
When completed, Da Nang Downtown is expected to contribute to raising the level of service - tourism infrastructure, as well as promoting the development of the night-time economy and increasing the competitiveness of Da Nang City on the regional investment map.
Currently, Vietnam has 4 towers over 60 floors high, concentrated in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The two towers in Ho Chi Minh City are the 81-storey Landmark and the 68-storey Bitexco Financial Tower. In Hanoi, there are Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower, 72 floors high, and Lotte Center Hanoi, 65 floors high.
With a 70-storey tower, the Da Nang Downtown project, when completed, is expected to be the tallest building in the Central region in 2035.
