On January 21, information from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province said that it had decided to approve the results of the appraisal of the environmental impact assessment report of the An Vien Trang Bom cemetery construction project, with an area of 497,054.8 square meters (nearly 50 hectares) in Song Trau commune, Trang Bom district, invested by An Vien Trang Bom Joint Stock Company.
The project to build a district-level centralized cemetery with a complete technical infrastructure system to serve the needs of burial and cremation, and to preserve the ashes of local people, to serve the relocation of existing small cemeteries scattered in the area, to ensure land saving, and to comply with local planning orientations.
The burial area has a total area of about 257,701.12m2, accounting for 51.85% of the total land area of the area, and is mainly located in the core center of the project, with an expected arrangement of 43,096 graves.
Of which, the commercial burial area has an area of about 229,210.35m2, arranging 38,578 graves and the burial area handed over to the locality is about 28,490.77m2, accounting for 11.06% of the total burial land area (including 1,628m2 of traffic land under the management of Song Trau Commune People's Committee) arranging 4,518 graves.
The project requires conversion of rice land use purposes with an area of about 7 hectares.
Previously, in December 2024, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province approved the overall adjustment of the detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/500 of An Vien Trang Bom cemetery in Song Trau commune, Trang Bom district, with a total project investment of nearly 350 billion VND.
