After graduating a year, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Uyen (23 years old, Nam Dinh) who used to have a starting salary of 10-12 million VND/month in Hanoi also decided to return to her hometown to achieve long-term goals.
"Although such a salary is not too low, after deducting rent and living expenses, I have almost nothing left. Moreover, I feel that my current capacity is not enough to reach 20-30 million VND/month, so I chose to return to my hometown" - Uyen shared.
Currently, Thu Uyen is working at a production company in an industrial park, with a starting salary of about 10 million VND/month, not much less than in Hanoi.
More importantly, living with her parents helps Uyen significantly reduce living expenses. "In my hometown, I spend more comfortably, almost economically. Thanks to that, I can set new goals such as learning more Chinese, taking a car driving test. Before in Hanoi, because of the expensive cost, I didn't even dare to think about it" - Uyen said.
Referring to the goal of owning a house in the capital, Uyen frankly said: "I never think about buying a house in Hanoi. Even those who earn tens of millions of VND per month still have to wait, office workers like me have almost no chance".

Not only Uyen, many young people are also making similar choices. Thanh Thuy (23 years old, Hai Phong) believes that life in the countryside helps her feel comfortable and true to what she once dreamed.
"Not having to wake up early to avoid traffic jams, no pressure to stay up all night. When I returned to my hometown, I went to work near home, from 8am to 5pm, the work was not too stressful and the salary was suitable for me" - Thuy shared.
The trend of "leaving the city to return to the countryside" is becoming more and more popular as many young people want to seek stability and closeness with their parents and relatives. It is even the dream of many young people struggling in big cities.
However, for many Gen Z, this choice is still not easy. Mr. Tran Dinh Duy (27 years old, Hai Phong), currently a data analyst at a technology company with an income of 15-20 million VND/month, admitted that he always wanted to return to his hometown but was not brave enough to decide.
"In the countryside, the air is airy, life is more peaceful and the pressure is also reduced. However, some jobs in the locality have not been developed, which is something I am still concerned about. I still want to experience more when I'm young" - Duy shared.
Sharing about his plan to own a small apartment in Hanoi, Mr. Duy sadly said: "Apartment prices have skyrocketed, I learned about some suburban projects but the prices are also sky-high. Even if I accept choosing a project far from the center, the price from 60-80 million VND/m2 I don't know how long I will be able to buy it".
