Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee has just issued a decision to establish a Steering Committee and a Support Team for site clearance for the High-speed Railway Project.
The Steering Committee is headed by the Provincial Party Secretary, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee is the Standing Deputy Head, and the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee are the Deputy Heads.
The members are leaders of departments, branches, and sectors; secretaries of Party committees of communes and wards where the project passes through.
The Support Team is responsible for advising and assisting the Steering Committee in the process of directing the implementation of site clearance for the High-speed Railway Project on the North-South axis through Ha Tinh.
The North-South high-speed railway project through Ha Tinh is about 103.42 km long, with 3 stations (2 passenger stations, 1 cargo station).
According to the preliminary review results of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Ha Tinh must reclaim and compensate for an area of about 764.1 hectares of land. Of which, there are about 84.3 hectares of residential land that need to be considered for resettlement.
In a recent meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha requested the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to review resettlement needs, striving to start construction of a resettlement area on August 19, 2025.
Conduct a review and plan for land funds in areas adjacent to the project's railway stations according to the orientation of public transport development to report and seek opinions from the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.
The North-South high-speed railway project was approved by the National Assembly in November 2024 with a total preliminary capital of about 1.7 million billion VND.
The railway line is 1,541 km long, starting from Ngoc Hoi station (Hanoi city) and ending at Thu Thiem station (Ho Chi Minh city), passing through 15 provinces and cities, with a design speed of 350km/h.
There are 23 passenger stations and 5 freight stations on the railway line. The total preliminary land use demand for project implementation is about 10,827 hectares, the number of people having to be relocated and resettled is about 120,836 people.
The Government aims to start the project before December 31, 2026, striving to basically complete it by 2035.
The North-South high-speed railway is designed to transport passengers, meeting dual-use requirements for national defense and security, and can transport goods when necessary.
