On July 28, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam chaired a meeting to listen to departments and branches report on the progress of site clearance for the North-South high-speed railway project through the province.
28 resettlement areas with a total area of about 61.2 hectares
According to the report of the Department of Construction, on July 23, the unit worked with three major project management boards of the province and representatives of 29 communes and wards with railway lines to agree on implementation plans.
Khanh Hoa province has about 2,134 hectares of land, 5,465 households and 36 organizations affected by the project. Of which, there are 1,680 households that need to be resettled. The province plans to prepare 28 resettlement areas, including 13 existing areas and 15 new or expanded areas, with a total area of about 61.2 hectares.
In the northern area of the province (about 66km long, passing through 10 communes and wards such as Dai Lanh, Tu Bong, Van Thang, Bac Ninh Hoa...), the province will invest in 3 resettlement areas with a total investment of about 274.2 billion VND, serving about 230 households.
The central area (about 64km long, passing through areas such as Bac Nha Trang, Suoi Dau, Cam Hiep, Ba Ngoi wards...) will have 7 resettlement areas with a total preliminary investment of about 278 billion VND.
The Southern region (about 61km long, passing through areas such as Cong Hai, Thuan Bac, Bao An, Phuoc Ha...) will invest in 5 resettlement areas with a total estimated cost of about 590 billion VND.
Compensation and resettlement for 2 years
The authorities of Khanh Hoa province are implementing the counting, developing a compensation, support and resettlement plan. The implementation period of this work will last until the end of December 2026.
In particular, the main phase of compensation, support and resettlement will take place from June 2026 to June 2028.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam assigned three Project Management Boards (agricultural and Transport Construction Investment Board; Provincial Development Board; Provincial Construction Investment Board) as investors for compensation, support and resettlement projects.
Mr. Nam also requested relevant departments such as the Department of Finance and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to urgently give written comments to the Department of Construction, giving comments on related contents such as building resettlement areas, land acquisition, granting mines, capital planning, etc.
Investors must closely coordinate with the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to implement each specific item, ensuring that the progress of the entire project is not affected.
The high-speed railway project on the North-South axis through Khanh Hoa has a starting point in Dai Lanh commune ( bordering Dak Lak province), an ending point in Phuoc Ha commune ( bordering Lam Dong province), passing through 29 communes and wards with a total length of about 191.8km.
On the route, there are two passenger stations (Dien Khanh station in Dien Lac commune, Thap Cham station in Bao An ward) and a cargo station in Bac Ninh Hoa commune - connecting Van Phong Economic Zone.
There are also four maintenance stations located in Van Ninh, Cam An, Ninh Hai, Phuoc Ha communes and two depots in Dien Dien and Bac Ninh Hoa to serve the operation of passenger and cargo ships.
