Da Nang - On the morning of July 24, the Indian Navy's fleet docked at Tien Sa port, starting a friendly visit to Da Nang city from July 24 to 27, 2025.

According to the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, this is an annual defense foreign affairs activity, contributing to strengthening bilateral cooperation, towards the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2016-2026).

The Indian Navy's fleet docked at Tien Sa port, including the INS Delhi sister ship, the INS Kiltan anti-ship guardship and the INS Shakti tanker, led by Rear Admiral Susheel Menon - Commander of the East Indian Navy.

The ship welcoming ceremony was attended by representatives of the leaders of Naval Region 3, Da Nang City People's Committee, Military Region 5, City Military Command, City Border Guard Command, Department of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of National Defense), Department of Military Security Protection, Coast Guard Region 2.

Within the framework of the visit, from July 24-27, the group of officers and ship commanders will meet with leaders of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Military Region 5, and Navy Region 3; welcome delegations from Vietnam to visit the ship; exchange volleyball with officers and soldiers of Navy Region 3; and visit local culture.

In recent years, India has regularly sent Navy ships to pay a visit to Da Nang City. The most recent was a visit by two Indian Navy ships, INS Delhi and INS Satpura, to pay a social visit to Da Nang City in May 2023.

The INS Delhi is a multi-purpose, Delhi-classclassclass vessel designed and built by India, 163m long, with a water propagation of about 6,700 tons, and a maximum speed of 30 knots.

The ship is equipped with 100mm artillery, anti-aircraft missiles, anti-submarine trawlers, hypersonic cruise missiles and is capable of carrying two underwater hunting helicopters.

The INS Kiltan is a 109m long, ground-breaking guards ship with a water propagation capacity of 3,500 tons and a maximum speed of 25 knots. The main equipment includes 76mm artillery, anti-aircraft artillery, torpedo tubes, rocket guns and landing deck for helicopters.

The INS Shakti is a large, 175m long logistics ship capable of carrying more than 15,000 tons of fuel and cargo. The ship is equipped with a modern sea oil supply system, defensive fireworks, a guardrail system and a landing gear for helicopters...
