In July 2025, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee is urgently implementing preparation steps, especially site clearance and resettlement.
It is expected that the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis, the section passing through Khanh Hoa province, will be about 191.8km long and pass through 29 communes and wards, with many important items such as passenger terminal, cargo terminal, maintenance station, depot, etc.
According to the Department of Construction of Khanh Hoa province, the railway section passing through the province has a starting point in Dai Lanh commune, bordering Dak Lak province and an ending point in Phuoc Ha commune, bordering Lam Dong province.
The route passes through communes and wards in the cities and towns of Van Ninh, Ninh Hoa, Nha Trang, Dien Khanh, Cam Lam, Cam Ranh and localities in the old Ninh Thuan province (now in communes and wards of Khanh Hoa province).
The project has 2 passenger stations, Dien Khanh (Dien Lac commune) and Thap Cham (Bao An ward); 1 cargo station located in Bac Ninh Hoa commune, connecting cargo transit with Van Phong Economic Zone. In addition, there are 4 maintenance stations (in Van Ninh, Cam An, Ninh Hai and Phuoc Ha) and 2 depots: Dien Khanh Depot (Dien Dien commune), serving the exploitation of the Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City section and Van Phong Depot (Bac Ninh Hoa commune), serving cargo ships in the Chu Lai - Van Phong section.
At the meeting to deploy site preparation for the project, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam assigned the Provincial People's Committee Office to urgently advise the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on the establishment of a Steering Committee for Site Clearance and a Working Group to organize project implementation on schedule.
Mr. Nam also requested the People's Committees of communes and wards where projects pass through to quickly review and count the number of affected households that need to be resettled; at the same time, propose the location, scale, and total investment to build resettlement areas to meet practical requirements.
