According to information in March 2026, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Tax Department issued a notice on the payment of land rent for Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung (Hanoi City) - the winner of the land use right auction at land plot No. 48-48A Tran Phu street, Nha Trang ward.
This is the latest development related to the "golden land" on the coast of Nha Trang, after the series of articles "BOTTLENECKS causing abandoned golden land" published by Lao Dong Newspaper in February 2025.
According to the notice of the tax authority, the land lease term for this land area is 50 years, calculated from the date of the land lease decision.
The total amount that Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung is responsible for contributing to the State budget is more than 719 billion VND.
In which, the tax authority requires that within 30 days from the date of issuance of the notice, land users must complete the payment of 50% of the land rent; the remaining 50% must be fully paid within a maximum of 90 days from the date the notice takes effect.

At the beginning of 2026, Khanh Hoa province decided to auction the land use rights of the coastal land area in Nha Trang at 48-48A Tran Phu to implement the high-class commercial and tourism service complex project.
The land price to determine the starting price is determined to be more than 189.85 million VND/m2. Previously, at the end of 2025, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee approved the specific land price in this "golden land" area at nearly 189.5 million VND/m2.
On that basis, the starting price for auctioning the land use rights of the entire land area was determined to be nearly 691.85 billion VND.
Regarding the process of handling the land plot, before the auction time, in March 2025, the Government Office had a report, in which Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc concluded and directed to remove difficulties and obstacles for land plot 48-48A Tran Phu.
According to the conclusion, the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee is assigned to urgently exchange and agree with the previous investor (Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development Services Co., Ltd.) in the direction of returning the amount paid to the provincial budget after winning the auction, without interest.
