On the afternoon of May 28, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with Can Tho City Police to organize the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Housing Project for the armed forces of the People's Police at No. 66 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Cai Khe Ward, Can Tho City.

The implementation of the Housing Project for the armed forces of the People's Police of Can Tho City is not only of social security significance but also a practical solution to create a long-term stable foundation for officers and soldiers to be steadfast in their work, attached and continue to contribute to the peace of the people.
The project is implemented on an area of 31, 473m2, including 943 apartments, including 784 social housing and 159 commercial housing, with a total investment of nearly 1,900 billion VND.

The project includes 20-story buildings with a total floor area of about 160,000m2, expected to serve more than 2,800 residents living in a synchronous and modern living space. In addition to housing items, the project is also planned with an internal traffic system, commercial center, parking lot, kindergarten, community activity area and green space to meet the long-term living needs of officers, soldiers and families.
According to the plan, the project will complete procedures, clear site and start construction in 2026; construct items from 2026 to 2028 and is expected to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2028.

Speaking to direct at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc - Deputy Minister of Public Security requested the investor and construction units to focus on mobilizing maximum resources, organizing construction on schedule, ensuring technical requirements and project quality; strictly implement regulations on labor safety, fire prevention and fighting, and environmental protection.
At the same time, focus on building synchronous works in terms of technical infrastructure and social infrastructure, to well meet the living and long-term settlement needs of officers and soldiers of the armed forces.

Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee emphasized that the commencement of the Housing Project for the People's Police Armed Forces is not only of social security significance but also shows the deep concern of the Party, State, Ministry of Public Security and Can Tho City in caring for the lives of officers and soldiers, especially those who are still facing housing difficulties and working far from home.
Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee affirmed that he will continue to closely coordinate with relevant units to remove difficulties and create the most favorable conditions to ensure that the project is implemented on schedule, with quality, safety and soon put into use.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Huynh Viet Hoa - Director of Can Tho City Police said that through review, there are currently about 2,400 officers and soldiers registering housing needs, showing the practical significance of the project in caring for the lives of the City Police force.
