On March 10, Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee said that the VSIP Quang Ngai project has a total area of about 1,100 hectares, including VSIP 1 Industrial Park with a total area of about 600 hectares in Tho Phong commune; VSIP 2 Industrial Park with a total area of nearly 500 hectares in Dong Son commune. The total number of households affected by the project is about 1,800 households; of which 390 households are eligible for resettlement.
To date, VSIP 1 Industrial Park has approved 118 compensation plans, with a total area of about 557.86 ha, reaching 92%; the remaining land area of 38 ha has completed the inventory of land and assets on land.
However, the project still has some problems related to the recovery of residential land because some households have received compensation money but have not handed over the site. For agricultural land, there are currently about 2.1 hectares that have not been developed for compensation; 35 cases have not received compensation money and have not handed over the site.
According to Mr. Do Tam Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, yesterday afternoon, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Land Fund Development Center to coordinate with Tho Phong Commune People's Committee and related units to review and inspect legal documents for the agricultural land area that has been approved for compensation plans, and at the same time consider the process of resolving the legitimate rights of the people.
In case the plan has fully ensured the rights of the people but the people still do not agree, a plan should be made to organize land recovery coercion and construction protection according to the provisions of law, with the completion time being no later than May 2026.
VSIP Quang Ngai Co., Ltd. proactively coordinates with the locality and the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to identify resettlement land funds, with about 250 plots, ensuring feasibility and in accordance with current regulations.
For the VSIP II Industrial Park project, so far compensation and site clearance have been made for about 102 hectares, reaching 20.62%. Compensation, support and site handover have been made for about 100.03 hectares.
Leaders of Quang Ngai province also assigned the Land Fund Development Center to coordinate with Dong Son commune to review the progress of all related tasks, develop a plan to approve compensation and site clearance plans in 2026 to organize implementation to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
Dong Son commune should soon develop specific land prices as a basis for approving compensation plans and paying compensation money to people. The Land Fund Development Center proactively arranges human resources to ensure good implementation of site clearance tasks.
For units assigned to build resettlement areas to serve migrants, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested to urgently implement and be responsible for the progress; soon organize consultations with people in determining the construction location of resettlement areas, ensuring convenience, modernity and practical suitability.
The investor needs to develop a specific plan, proactively coordinate with localities and departments and branches to implement it. The goal by the end of 2026 is to ensure the handover of 360 hectares out of nearly 500 hectares of the entire VSIP II Industrial Park project to the investor for construction according to the plan.
