On October 1, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had issued a Comprehensive Report responding to voters' opinions before the 18th Session of the People's Council of Khanh Hoa province, term VII, 2021 - 2026 (before the arrangement of the province).
More than 200 households in Group 7, Ba Lang, Vinh Hoa ward (now Bac Nha Trang ward) have lived in a state of dilapidated houses for many years but cannot rebuild or repair them due to planning problems of the Sasco Hotel Project.
At the 18th session of the 7th Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, voters recommended that the province answer clearly: Will this project continue to be implemented or will it be terminated?
According to the report of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, the Sasco - Nha Trang Hotel Project, invested by Tan Son Nhat Airport Service Joint Stock Company, was first granted an Investment Certificate on May 19, 2008 and first adjusted on July 17, 2008.
In 2014, the Provincial People's Committee agreed on the architectural plan and construction planning (Document No. 3516/UBND-XDND).
The project consists of 2 areas: Area 1 is 5,144.8m2 wide, planned as a 4-star hotel with 19 floors. Area 2 is 2,566.1m2 wide, planned as a 2-storey villa-style luxury resort.
However, after nearly 20 years, the project is still "inactive". The main causes were identified as problems in compensation and site clearance and prolonged complaints and lawsuits.
For many years, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province have directed relevant departments and branches, especially the Department of Planning and Investment, to find ways to remove difficulties.
However, the project is still behind schedule compared to regulations, causing prolonged frustration for people in the planning area.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that in the coming time, the Department of Finance will be assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to review the entire process and procedures of the project, and advise the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to have a final solution.
The goal is to prevent the "suspended" project from continuing to affect people's lives.
