On February 27, the People's Council of Dong Nai province, term X, 2021-2026, held the 10th session (specialized session) and voted to approve the Resolution adjusting the planning of Dong Nai province for the period 2021-2030.
The scope of planning adjustment includes the entire administrative boundaries of Dong Nai province with a total natural area of more than 12,700 km2, including 95 commune-level administrative units (72 communes and 23 wards).

Planning objectives, by 2030, Dong Nai province basically meets the standards of a centrally-run city in the direction of civilization, modernity, sustainability, high growth rate, exceeding the high income threshold in the leading group of the country. The system of economic and social infrastructure, the urban system develops synchronously, modernly, intelligently, sustainably, rich in identity, with the characteristics of developing an airport city, an international-class ecological city, meeting the conditions to organize regional and international-scale events.
Dong Nai province will focus on effectively exploiting Long Thanh International Airport associated with the airport urban model.
Promoting urban development associated with public transport orientation (TOD). Deploying high-class urban, tourism, and resort service projects along rivers, mountains, and lakes, focusing on developing: urban - tourism - service areas adjacent to Long Thanh airport; urban - tourist area of Chua Chan mountain, Nui Le lake; urban - tourist area of Suoi Giai lake; urban - tourist area of Ba Ra - Thoc Mo mountain; chain of urban areas along the Dong Nai River (concentrating urban areas of Bien Hoa, Long Thanh, Nhon Trach).
At the same time, establish large-scale higher education and training complexes in Long Thanh urban area, Nhon Trach urban area, Long Khanh urban area, and Dong Xoai urban area.

At the session, delegates also voted to approve the remaining 3 resolutions including: Adjusting and supplementing Resolution No. 29/NQ-HDND, dated April 29, 2025 of the Provincial People's Council on approving the list of land areas for bidding for land-using investment projects in 2025 in Dong Nai province (2nd time); Deciding on the policy of converting forest use purposes to other purposes to implement the Landslide Prevention Project in the 113 Special Forces Soldiers Memorial Area and Adjusting the Housing Development Program of Dong Nai province for the period 2021-2030.
Speaking at the closing of the session, Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council - requested to urgently issue resolutions, ensuring that from March 1, 2026, the resolutions have legal value, be implemented, and not be delayed or prolonged.
Vision to 2050, Dong Nai province strives to become a centrally-run city before 2035, by 2050, Dong Nai will take the lead in developing high-tech industry, with a synchronous, smart, and modern infrastructure system; is an international trade, tourism, and service center associated with international-class cities, a place to gather intellectuals and talents, taking the green economy and circular economy as the focus to contribute to completing the goal of net zero emissions. Harmonious development, people have a prosperous and happy life, and no one is left behind. National defense, security, national sovereignty, and social order and safety are firmly ensured.
