In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City has approved investment policies for 17 social housing projects with a construction scale of nearly 14,000 apartments.
This year, the city has 4 completed projects with a scale of 2,639 apartments. There are currently 14 projects under construction, with a scale of 15,412 apartments.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the city has allocated 20% of land fund for social housing in commercial housing projects and urban areas in the area.
The city has balanced more than 1,400 hectares of land to allocate to social housing. Thereby continuing to complete the social housing development target in 2026 (with more than 25,200 units) and the following years.
To facilitate businesses, Ho Chi Minh City has cut administrative procedures to the maximum, focusing on removing difficulties in the process of building social housing. Specifically, the city has issued many regulations to shorten the time for granting construction permits to investors to facilitate businesses to participate in investing in social housing development.
According to records, Ho Chi Minh City focuses on a large number of immigrant workers. In the North of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Binh Duong area), it attracts about 1 million workers. Many people are having difficulty, having to extend the rental period. Currently, the northern area of Ho Chi Minh City has about 130,000 workers who need to buy social housing. This area has many social housing projects being implemented.
