The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Environment is seeking opinions from relevant agencies on the feasibility study report dossier of the compensation, support and resettlement project serving the two Metro lines Thu Dau Mot - Ho Chi Minh City and Metro No. 6 (Tan Son Nhat - Phu Huu).
According to the plan, two projects are targeted by Ho Chi Minh City to start construction at the end of 2026 and be completed by 2030.
Thu Dau Mot - HCMC Metro affects more than 2,600 cases
Thu Dau Mot - Ho Chi Minh City Metro is about 33.2km long, passing through 16 wards including Binh Duong, Phu Loi, Thu Dau Mot, Thuan Giao, Thuan An, Lai Thieu, Binh Hoa, Tam Binh, Hiep Binh, Binh Thanh, Gia Dinh, Thanh My Tay, Xuan Hoa, Saigon, Ben Thanh and Ban Co.
In the total length of the line, about 17.8km is elevated, the rest is underground. The line starts at station C0, connecting the S5 station area of the Binh Duong New City - Suoi Tien Metro line in Binh Duong ward and ends at Tao Dan station, connecting with Metro line No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong) in Ben Thanh ward.
The entire route has 24 stations, including 11 elevated stations from C0 to C10 and 13 underground stations from C11 to C23. The project has a Hiep Binh Phuoc depot of about 26.8ha in Tam Binh and Hiep Binh wards, serving repair, maintenance and overnight train stationing.
According to the dossier being consulted, the compensation, support and resettlement project serving this metro line has a total expected affected land area of about 81.2ha, with about 2,681 cases.
Of which, about 398 cases are expected to be completely cleared, corresponding to the resettlement demand of 398 units.
The total investment for compensation, support and resettlement is estimated at 34,374 billion VND, using the Ho Chi Minh City budget. The expected implementation time is from now until 2027.
According to the plan, from October 2026 to February 2027, localities will deploy investigation, survey, measurement, inventory, determine land origin, build land prices and develop compensation, support, and resettlement plans.
Metro line No. 6 affects more than 2,500 cases
Metro No. 6 (Tan Son Nhat - Phu Huu) is about 23km long, passing through 15 wards including Tan Son Nhi, Tan Binh, Tay Thanh, Tan Son, Tan Son Hoa, Bay Hien, Tan Son Nhat, Duc Nhuan, Hanh Thong, Binh Loi Trung, Hiep Binh, Thu Duc, Tang Nhon Phu, Phuoc Long and Long Truong.
The starting point of the line is at Ba Queo station (ST01), near the Tan Ky Tan Quy - Truong Chinh intersection, connecting to Metro Line No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong). The ending point is in Phu Huu area, connecting to the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway line.

The route has about 19km underground, the rest is elevated. The entire route includes 17 stations, including 13 underground stations and 4 elevated stations. The depot is located in the Binh Trieu area.
According to compensation, support and resettlement dossiers, the total expected affected land area is about 95.3ha, with about 2,501 cases.
Notably, about 2,256 cases are expected to be completely cleared, corresponding to the resettlement demand of about 2,256 units.
The total cost of compensation, support and resettlement is expected to be more than 26,336 billion VND, from the Ho Chi Minh City budget. The expected implementation time is from October 2026 to February 2027.
