The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just assigned relevant departments to urgently develop a plan to auction land use rights for 7 plots of land in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area, expected to be implemented in 2026.
According to the direction of the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Land Fund Development Center and related units to develop a detailed auction plan, submit to the Standing Committee of the City People's Committee Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee for consideration and comments.
The plots of land that have completed technical infrastructure connections, basically completed compensation and are eligible for auction according to Clause 2, Article 125 of the 2024 Land Law include:
Lot 3-8, 3-9, 3-12 ( Functional Area No. 3).
Lot 7-1, 7-17 ( Functional Area No. 7).
Lot 1-12 ( Functional Area No. 1).
Lot 4-21 ( Functional Area No. 4).
Notably, 3 plots of land 3-8, 3-9 and 3-12 were successfully auctioned at the end of 2021, but the winning enterprises later did not pay the land use fee on time and asked to forfeit the deposit.
In addition to the 7 plots of land expected to be auctioned in 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the An Khanh Ward People's Committee and the City Urban Development Management Board to speed up the compensation and site clearance progress for the 1-20 plots of land. This will be the basis for the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Land Fund Development Center to propose the next auction plan.
The Department of Finance is assigned to prepare a list of investment calls and organize bidding for projects using land for lots in the Sports - Entertainment Complex at Functional Area 2c and backpacks 8-1, 8-2, 8-3 in the Eco-forestry Area project.
The People's Committee of An Khanh Ward and the City Urban Development Management Board must complete the technical infrastructure and report on the investment method for two plots of land (3-17 in Functional Area 3 and 5-3 in Functional Area 5).
