Benjamin Sesko's move to Manchester United seems unlikely, at least considering the striker's previous statements.
The "Red Devils" have been looking for a new striker throughout the summer of 2025, but have not yet found a suitable contract.
Man United have missed Liam Delap, Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike, as these strikers join Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool respectively. Meanwhile, Man United's efforts to sign Victor Osimhen and Ollie Watkins have also failed.
Therefore, they were forced to switch to Sesko. The 22-year-old striker had negotiated to join Arsenal this summer, but the deal was delayed, causing the "Gunners" to switch to pursuing Gyokeres.

According to British media, RB Leipzig is said to have lowered Sesko's selling price. The Slovenia striker could now be transferred for around £60 million. However, Man United's hopes of getting Sesko's signature will depend on whether he changes his stance or not.
The "Red Devils" approached Sesko in 2023, after his explosive season at Red Bull Salzburg, with 18 goals in all competitions and attracting the attention of many top European teams. However, Sesko eventually chose to move to RB Leipzig. The striker later hinted that Man United's playing style was an important factor in his refusal to join Old Trafford.
"The problem is that I don't really get into the club conversations I'm signing for. But I think it would be better if I went to RB Leipzig.
For me, moving to a place with a similar style of play is very important. I know what I need to do and I should not go through the whole learning process from the beginning" - Sesko admitted in 2024.
After missing Sesko, Man United have turned to another unverified young talent: Rasmus Hojlund. They agreed to spend £72 million on the Danish striker. However, after only two years, the career path of this two strikers has turned in completely different directions.
Sesko has increasingly shown remarkable progress, scoring 18 and 21 goals in two consecutive seasons for RB Leipzig. In contrast, Hojlund is still struggling to find a place at Old Tafford.
After being pushed into a squad that was in decline at Man United, Hojlund struggled with instability and poor scoring efficiency. Now, he is at risk of leaving the club with his reputation seriously affected.
The difficulties Hojlund faced further highlight Sesko's right decision when choosing Leipzig. Here, he can improve his skills and develop in a less stressful environment, instead of having to shoulder the attack of a struggling giant like Man United.
Ironically, Sesko can now take the same step he once rejected. Man United's head of scouting, Christopher Vivell, is a big fan of Sesko.
At the age of 22, Sesko could well be the focus of Man United's new attack, alongside new signings like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. With £133m spent this summer, recruiting Sesko will increase the club's total transfer investment to nearly £200 million.
With Marcus Rashford moving to Barcelona and Hojlund rumored to be leaving, increasing firepower in attack is not only a top priority but has also become a must for Man United.

As for Sesko, he currently has no intention of leaving Leipzig. With a contract valid until 2029, the German team is also not under any pressure to sell the Slovenia star this summer.
However, according to some sources, if a team accepts a valuation of £60 million, Leipzig is ready for Sesko to enter the negotiation process.
The £60 million fee for Sesko could be a bargain in the current transfer market. Man United had the opportunity to sign Sesko for a small fee a few years ago.
In 2021, when he was just 18 years old, the player was offered a contract by coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for just £2.5 million. However, Man United rejected the deal, saying it was too big a risk.
