Ruben Amorim is confident in maintaining Man United's excellent form
Ruben Amorim hopes Manchester United will continue to maintain their impressive form as they face Nottingham Forest in many difficulties.
The "Red Devils" continued their resounding victory over Liverpool right at Anfield with a 4-2 destruction of Brighton last weekend, thereby winning their third consecutive victory in the Premier League. This is the first time they have done this under Amorim.
Including the 2-0 victory over Sunderland, this is Man United's best win streak in a season since February 2024, when they won 4 consecutive matches. The Old Trafford team is also in the group of 3 clubs that won all Premier League matches in October, along with Arsenal and Aston Villa, thereby rising to sixth place in the rankings.
In fact, only the top team Arsenal (16 points) has won more points than Man United (15 points - won 5, lost 2) since round 3. Notably, Amorim's students are also the team with the most goals in this period (14 goals), after conceding four goals against Brighton in the previous round.
Bryan Mbeumo scored twice, along with a stunning goal from Matheus Cunha and a goal from Casemiro, helping Man United extinguish all hopes of Brighton's comebacks in the final minutes.
Cunha's first goal in the Premier League for Man United fully demonstrated the qualities that made Amorim determined to bring him to Old Trafford. Since the start of last season, the Brazilian striker has scored 7 goals from outside the box - more than any other player in the Premier League in all competitions.

More worrying for Forest is Cunha, who has contributed to 7 goals in his last four appearances against relegated sides (3 goals, 4 assists). All of these were spent at his former club Wolves between April 2024 and April 2025.
No less, Mbeumo has also continued to maintain his high form by scoring or assisting in all 3 recent matches for Man United in the Premier League (3 goals, 1 assist). In 2025, only Erling Haaland (19 goals, 3 assists) and Mohamed Salah (15 goals, 7 assists) have contributed to more goals than Mbeumo (14 goals, 6 assists).
Nottingham Forest continues crisis
The story is completely different for Nottingham Forest. The team, in their first Premier League start under new manager Sean Dyche, ended with a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend.
Optimism was high after Dyche's debut - when he replaced Ange Postecoglou and helped the team win 2-0 against Porto in the UEFA Europa League - quickly folded. His new team was completely outclassed in the one-sided match at Vitality.
Morgan Gibbs-White was a rare player to create a significant opportunity for Forest against Bournemouth. Notably, Dyche's team has made 16.9% of long-distance passes - nearly double that of Postecoglou's time (8.5%), clearly demonstrating the change in playing philosophy.
Emphasizing that difference, goalkeeper Matz Sels made 25 long passes in a match, the most by a Forest player in a single game since the start of the season.
However, that tactical change still cannot help Forest avoid a sixth defeat in the last 7 matches in the Premier League (D1). Of which, there were 4 consecutive losses in which they could not score any goals.
Head-to-head record
Anthony Elanga was the hero of this match last season. He scored the decisive goal in the 5th minute, helping Forest win 1-0 and complete a double against Man United.
In fact, Forest have won their last three meetings with Man United, but have not won four in a row against the Red Devils since 1910.
Man United are also struggling at the City Ground, having lost their last two games at the stadium. However, the Reds have never lost three consecutive away games against Forest between August 1975 and October 1967, a period of which they have not lost three since then.
Score prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-3 Man United
The match between Nottingham Forest and Man United takes place at 22:00 on November 1 (Vietnam time).
