On October 31, the leader of the Traffic Police Department of Gia Lai Province Police said that the authorities had coordinated with Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Construction) to fix the erosion incident on An Khe Pass, when rocks and soil from the mountain were swept away by rainwater onto National Highway 19, through Binh Khe Commune.
According to the leader of the Traffic Police Department, on the same morning, the An Khe Pass area had very heavy rain, causing erosion at some locations on the positive slope. Rainwater from the mountains poured down, causing a large amount of soil and rocks to overflow onto the road, disrupting traffic through the area.

Immediately after receiving the news, the unit coordinated with Project Management Board 2 to mobilize forces and vehicles to the scene to clean up and handle the amount of rock and soil spilled onto the road, ensuring traffic safety.
"Heavy rain has caused many locations on the pass to be at high risk of landslides. The traffic police are closely monitoring the situation of flooding and landslides to promptly warn and inform people and vehicles traveling through the area," informed the leader of the Traffic Police Department.
On the same day, the leader of Project Management Board 2 said that the sections of the route that were dug deeply and the high slopes of the positive slopes during the construction of National Highway 19 have been reinforced and ensured safety. The situation of water sweeping soil and rocks down only appeared in low locations, not yet reinforced.
"We have completed the above phenomenon, and have deployed forces to be on duty on the pass to monitor the development and promptly handle if landslides occur," he said.
National Highway 19 is a vital traffic route connecting the two extreme east - west of Gia Lai province (Quy Nhon - Pleiku). The project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands region on National Highway 19 was started in June 2021, with a total length of 143km. After 4 years of construction, the road has been basically completed.
