Ho Ho Hydropower Plant increases discharge flow to 1,104 m3/s

Ha Tinh - Based on the amount of water flowing into the reservoir, on the afternoon of October 31, Ho Ho Hydropower Plant increased the overflow flow to 1,104 m3/s.

According to information from Ho Ho Hydropower Plant, at 2:00 p.m. on October 31, the upstream water level was 66.64 m, the downstream water level was 24.3 m; the water flow to the reservoir of Ho Ho Hydropower Plant was 1,142 m3/s. Therefore, the factory is releasing overflow with a flow of 1,104m3/s.

Previously, at 6:00 a.m. the same day, Ho Ho Hydropower Plant regulated the overflow of 200 m3/s.

Currently, Ho Ho Hydropower Plant is monitoring and closely following weather developments, rainfall, and water flow from upstream to the reservoir to regulate flexible and reasonable overflow.

At 3:30 p.m. on October 31, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Linh commune said that the rain in the area had decreased. This is a low-lying locality in the old Huong Khe district that was greatly affected by the overflow of the Ho Ho Hydropower Plant. Currently, the water is only slightly flooded on some roads, in residential areas, the water has not yet reached people's homes.

Mr. Tan said that if the discharge flow of Ho Ho Hydropower Plant is flexible according to weather developments, it may not have a big impact, causing deep flooding in the locality.

Compared to the morning of the same day, some other reservoirs in Ha Tinh have also increased their overflow flow. In which, Ke Go lake is 350m3/s, Song Rac is 435m3/s, Kim Son is 50m3/s, Thuong Song Tri is 100m3/s, Tau Voi is 10m3/s, Khe Xai is 20m3/s, Boc Nguyen is 10m3/s, Han Da is 40m3/s.

According to the Ha Tinh Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of cold air combined with high-altitude easterly wind disturbances, from the evening of October 30 to the end of November 1, the whole province will have heavy rain, some places with very heavy rain, common rainfall of 150 - 300 mm, some places over 400 mm. In particular, the rainfall in the southern coastal plains is from 200 - 400 mm, in some places over 600 mm.

From the night of November 1 to November 2, Ha Tinh is forecast to have heavy rain with rainfall from 100 - 200 mm, some places over 300 mm.
