This weekend, Alejandro Garnacho could face a hostile welcome back to Manchester United for the first time since moving to Chelsea.
Garnacho is the first player in coach Ruben Amorim's "slow- governance" squad to return to Old Trafford, less than 3 weeks after his bitter departure.
The winger, along with other left-handed teammates Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, was left out of Amorim's squad after expressing his desire to leave the club.
For Amorim and the Man United board, Garnacho's talent and potential are not important enough for his ego and enthusiasm. Therefore, they decided to sell the 21-year-old player at a loss.
Garnacho will become the "enemy" of M.U fans when he enters the Theater of Dreams - which once praised him, but is now considered a traitor.
This player was once loved by "Red Devils" fans to the point that they renamed Cristiano Ronaldo Garnacho in a familiar song.

However, after Garnacho's chaotic departure from Old Trafford - when he angrily threw objects and made controversial actions towards Amorim after last season's Europa League final against Tottenham - he now has to face criticism rather than respect.
Can Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca succeed when Amorim failed, thereby exploiting Garnacho's potential and giving him discipline and Humility? Only time will tell. However, Man United did not seem to worry when letting this player join an opponent in the Premier League.
Garnacho's collapse at Man United began right after Amorim took charge. He was left out of the Manchester derby squad in December last year. The Portuguese captain felt that the player had not followed the instructions when he came on in a Europa League match four days earlier.
Although Garnacho was given a chance to return, his attitude was marked by Amorim. The Argentine has been unable to regain the trust of the coach.
Garnacho's public outrage at being left out of the starting lineup for the Europa League final was Amorim's last straw. He was also left out of the squad for Man United's final game of last season - a 2-0 home win over Aston Villa.
It was the first important step in the process of liquidating a player who was considered too annoying and costly to develop. The obvious proof appeared in the summer of 2025, when Garnacho posted on social media a photo wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Rashford's name and number 9 on the back.
This action was seen as a Provocative gesture, and at the same time, a mockery aimed at both Amorim and Man United, instead of showing genuine support for Rashford.
Both Garnacho and Rashford have disagreements with Man United. And Garnacho's actions only reinforced the club's argument that he had to leave, despite his promising potential.

"Red Devils" fans often don't like to see talent leave the academy before they have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Because their long history is built on giving young players opportunities, originating from the Busby Babes era.
However, talent alone is not enough to succeed at Man United, which Garnacho has realized. There needs to be discipline, strong professional ethics and the spirit of putting the team above personal interests. These are qualities that Garnacho has not really grasped or shown in his 5 years playing for the "Red Devils".
That is the reason why there will be no gratitude between Garnacho and M.U fans when he takes the field this weekend.
