The second semi-final match of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will take place between Paris St-Germain and Real Madrid.
PSG have made an impressive recovery after the surprise group stage loss to Botafogo. They won 3 consecutive victories to reach the semi-finals. In all 3 recent victories, PSG have not conceded any goals.
PSG's most impressive performance so far was in the quarter-finals, where they defeated Bayern Munich with a score of 2-0. Despite the disadvantage of two red cards, coach Luis Enrique's team still won a place in the semi-finals.
With Doue and Dembele both scoring against Bayern, PSG now have nine different players who have scored at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. They are also tied with Manchester City and Chelsea for the most goals in a FIFA Club World Cup (excluding home goals).
This meeting marks the fifth knockout match between PSG and Real Madrid, but the first of the semi-finals. PSG have won their first two matches - in the UEFA Cup 1992-1993 and the Cup of the national cup winning teams 1993-1994.
However, Real have won their last two encounters, in the round of 16 of the 2017 2018 and 2021-2022 Champions League.
Real Madrid youngster Gonzalo Garcia with 4 goals is currently the top scorer in the tournament, along with Angel Di Maria (Benfica), Marcos Leonardo (Al-Hilal) and Guirassy (Dortmund). He has contributed to the goals in his five appearances at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (4 goals, 1 assist).
At 21 and 103 days, Garcia is Madrid's youngest player since Jese in 2014 to contribute to five consecutive appearances.
