In the early morning of February 26 (Vietnam time), Al-Nassr visited Al-Wehda in round 22 of the 2024-2025 Saudi Arabian National Championship.
The match was quite tense from the first minutes. In the 12th minute, Al-Nassr suffered a loss when center back Aymeric Laporte was injured and forced to leave the field to make way for Salem.
However, the away team quickly regained their rhythm, continuously organizing dangerous attacks. In the 16th minute, Ghareeb crossed accurately for Qasheesh to finish close to the goal, but goalkeeper Al Owaishir made an excellent save.
Al-Wehda did not give up and also created notable opportunities. In the 38th minute, Bacuna fired a long-range shot but it was not dangerous enough to defeat goalkeeper Bento. Immediately after that, Al-Nassr responded strongly when Ronaldo made a header to assist Ayman Yahya to finish, but this time, Al Owaishir did his job well.
Entering the second half, Al-Nassr unexpectedly opened the scoring. In the 48th minute, substitute Angelo Gabriel made an accurate cross for Ronaldo to jump high and head the ball into the Al-Wehda net, putting the away team 1-0 up.
After conceding the goal, Al-Wehda stepped up to attack and created some dangerous opportunities. In the 56th minute, Abdullah Khodari had a close-range shot but the ball went just wide of the post. In the 63rd minute, the home team continued to create a storm, however, goalkeeper Bento had an excellent reflex to preserve the advantage for Al-Nassr.
In the final minutes of the match, Al-Nassr created a number of opportunities to double the gap, notably Mane's dangerous header in the 79th minute. In the 90+7 minute, the away team was awarded a penalty after the ball touched the hand of Al-Wehda player. Cristiano Ronaldo gave the shot to Sadio Mane and the Senegalese striker did not miss the opportunity, sealing a 2-0 victory for Al-Nassr.
With this victory, Al-Nassr continued to chase the top group in the rankings, while Al-Wehda still faced difficulties in the relegation race.
