On February 26, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Steering Committee Tran Cam Tu and the working delegation of the Central Steering Committee on celebrating major holidays in the period of 2023 - 2025 worked with Ho Chi Minh City on preparations for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The conference was also attended by Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and representatives of ministries and branches.
At the conference, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc recommended that the Secretariat soon approve the overall project and the plan to organize the celebration so that localities have a basis for implementation.
The city also proposed organizing an additional parade of veterans who directly attended the event on April 30, 1975, to honor the contributions of the previous generation.
Ho Chi Minh City hopes to organize a special art program on the evening of April 29 at Saigon Riverside Park (Thu Duc City), creating conditions for people and tourists to enjoy the culture and achievements after 50 years of national reunification.

Speaking at the conference, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia said that the Steering Committee had agreed on a plan to invite General Secretary To Lam to speak on behalf of the Party and State leaders at the ceremony held in front of Thong Nhat Hall (Doc Lap Palace) on the morning of April 30.
In addition, propaganda work will be promoted with many meaningful activities. It is expected that 500 artists will carry out the "For Peace" journey from Hanoi to Quang Tri.

Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen emphasized that the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification has a special meaning, not only marking the end of the great patriotic war but also opening a new era for the Vietnamese people.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification is not only for a group or an area, but is a common joy of the whole nation.
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee proposed expanding the parade delegation, inviting representatives of people from 6 socio-economic regions across the country (about 20 people in each locality to participate) to demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and common pride of the country.

Concluding the meeting, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized that this is a particularly important event for the Party, State and people, so the preparation work must be carefully carried out.
Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu requested Ho Chi Minh City to promptly send a draft speech from the Party and State leaders, along with speeches from veterans and representatives of the young generation for the Steering Committee to appraise and comment on.
Through this event, we need to inspire the younger generation about the value of peace and unity - Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized.
In addition, the Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu also noted the need to organize activities to pay tribute to veterans, youth volunteers, people with meritorious services to the country, and at the same time take care of people's lives, especially in disadvantaged areas, revolutionary bases, border areas and islands.
The Standing Secretariat of Tran Cam Tu agreed with the proposal to invite representatives of people from all 6 socio-economic regions to participate in the parade, but note to consider about 10 people each locality in the region.
