According to French media, the bus carrying the U21 Luxembourg team had an accident while en route to participate in the EURO U21 qualifying match against France.
The car was seen digging into a ditch. The players and team members were trapped in the car for more than 2 hours before being rescued by rescue forces.
Languidic town Mayor Laurent Duval told Le Telegramme: "The situation is quite critical and local authorities have had to deploy emergency measures to support the victims."
Of the total 38 people on the bus, at least 8 were injured, including the driver, 4 players and 3 staff. Some seriously ill cases were taken directly to the hospital for emergency care.
This serious incident forced UEFA to postpone the match between France and Luxembourg to October.
French Football Federation (FFF) President Philippe Diallo sent his encouragement: "We wish the members of the Luxembourg team a speedy recovery. In an unprecedented situation, UEFA made the right decision to postpone the match."
