According to data from the Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), in August, the whole country had 20.5 thousand newly established enterprises with a registered capital of 326.1 trillion VND and a registered number of 106.9 thousand employees. With this figure, the number of enterprises increased by 23.9%, nearly 2.8 times the registered capital and increased by 35.4% the number of employees compared to July.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises increased by 52.9%, more than 2.6 times the registered capital and increased by 49.0% the number of employees. The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the month reached VND 15.9 billion, more than 2.2 times higher than the previous month and up 71.2% over the same period last year.

In addition, the whole country also has 12.4 thousand enterprises returning to operation, down 15.0% compared to the previous month and up 46.4% over the same period in 2024.

In the first eight months of 2025, the whole country had 128.2 thousand newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of VND 1,254.5 trillion and a total registered number of employees of nearly 777 thousand employees, an increase of 15.7% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 26.1% in registered capital and an increase of 15.5% in the number of employees compared to the same period last year.

The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the first eight months of 2025 reached 9.8 billion VND, up 9.0% over the same period in 2024. The total registered capital added to the economy in the first eight months of 2025 reached nearly VND 4,135.7 trillion, an increase of 105.3% over the same period in 2024.

In addition, the whole country has 81.1 thousand enterprises returning to operation (up 41.4% over the same period in 2024), bringing the total number of newly established and returning to operation in the first eight months of 2025 to 209.2 thousand enterprises, up 24.5% over the same period in 2024. On average, 26,200 newly established and returning to operation enterprises per month.

According to the economic sector, in the first eight months of 2025, there were 1,167 newly registered enterprises in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector, an increase of 7.1% over the same period last year; 28.4 thousand enterprises in the industrial and construction sector, an increase of 10.7%; 98.6 thousand enterprises in the service sector, an increase of 17.4%.

Also in August, 6.5 thousand businesses registered to temporarily suspend business for a period of time, down 11.0% compared to the previous month and up 22.5% compared to the same period in 2024; 6.9 thousand businesses temporarily suspended operations pending dissolution procedures, up 56.8% and up 33.2%; 3.8 thousand businesses completed dissolution procedures, up 96.7% and up 99.0%.

In the first 8 months of this year, the number of enterprises temporarily suspended business for a period of time was 95.0 thousand enterprises, an increase of 14.7% over the same period last year; 47.8 thousand enterprises temporarily suspended operations pending dissolution procedures, an increase of 23.7%; 18.1 thousand enterprises completed dissolution procedures, an increase of 31.5%. On average, 20.1 thousand businesses withdraw from the market each month.
