Closing ceremony of the 2025 Capital Labor Newspaper Cup football tournament

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament said: "The tournament held annually is not only the expectation of players and football teams from units and enterprises for a playground, for opportunities to compete, and demonstrate sports talents, but also contributes to spreading the love of "king sports" to a large number of workers.

Through the season, the matches are more exciting and attractive, the number of spectators coming to watch and cheer for the tournament is greater, creating an unmatched attraction for some professional football fields.

After 10 seasons, the tournament has attracted over 5,000 athletes and coaches, with more than 400 matches (an average of more than 40 matches per season), with a total of 160 goals, about 2,000 spectators who have directly attended the stadium to watch the matches and thousands of spectators watching via livestream and on social networking platforms".

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, this year's tournament is of greater significance as all levels of the Capital's Trade Unions, workers, civil servants and laborers are competing and making many achievements to celebrate Workers' Month in 2025; celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification; 139th anniversary of International Labor Day 1.5; 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; towards the 96th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union...

This year's tournament opened on April 11 with the participation of 17 football teams from District Labor Federations, Industry Trade Unions, and Grassroots Trade Unions. After 12 days of competition, the Bac Tu Liem District Labor Federation football team has excellently won the championship.

At the closing ceremony, the Hanoi City Labor Federation awarded certificates of merit to 12 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in 10 years of organizing the Capital Labor Newspaper Cup Workers' Football Tournament; awarded certificates of merit to 3 Trade Unions at the grassroots level with the best achievements in the 10th Capital Labor Newspaper Cup Workers' Football Tournament - 2025.
