Continue to play
On the afternoon of February 6th, in response to Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Dong A Thanh Hoa Club said: "There is currently no outside support for the team. However, the club's leaders and players are still determined to play in the match against the Ho Chi Minh City Police team. The whole team has departed this afternoon.
The Thanh team is currently ranked 12th in the standings and still has a chance to stay in the league. In the past round, coach Mai Xuan Hop's team left a strong impression when they drew with defending champion Nam Dinh with a score of 2-2 in a situation where there were only 17 players (including 3 goalkeepers and 3 injured players).
Leaders of Thanh Hoa team shared: "In the context of encountering major upheavals, we sold many private assets to take care of the team, but this is not a solution. Players are very determined and dedicated to the people of Thanh Hoa, but in the tense period after Tet, it is very difficult for us to ensure everything.
Looking at the way Doan Ngoc Tan and his teammates play makes many fans feel sad. Players are owed salaries, transfer fees and dedication, but... are not allowed to be injured. Simply put, they no longer have players to replace because of FIFA's transfer ban penalty.
Wait until it's untangled?
Immediately after the match against Nam Dinh, head coach Mai Xuan Hop spoke out to "appeal for help" to the leaders of Thanh Hoa province as well as relevant departments and agencies. The coach born in 1986 affirmed that Thanh Hoa cannot maintain the fighting spirit if the difficult situation persists.
The club's leaders themselves have had a document requesting support from the local authorities but have not had a plan in the past 5 months. Last week, the Thanh Hoa team continued to have a "request for help" document but still has no solution to resolve the issue.
Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued document No. 611/SVHTTDL-QLTDTT responding to the request for financial and personnel support from Dong A Thanh Hoa Football Co., Ltd.
Accordingly, this enterprise operates under the Enterprise Law and the Law on Physical Education and Sports, so there is no legal basis for state management agencies to provide financial and personnel support for organization and competition work.
The specialized agency requests the club to proactively mobilize legal socialized resources to maintain operations and sustainable development.
On social networks, many Thanh Hoa fans argued and said that it was time for them to "set up a fund", contribute money to "nurture" the team because this is the pride of the locality.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc - a long-time fan of the Thanh Hoa team shared: "Thanh Hoa football is the pride of the local people and also of those far from home. We are willing to contribute money to maintain the team if the difficult situation continues like this.
However, fans supporting or establishing funds is not a feasible option.
Before the Thanh Hoa team set off for Ho Chi Minh City, another meeting between the club and the locality took place, but there were no clear results yet. Will the Thanh Hoa team still have to wait for trouble to be resolved?
