On February 6, 2026, Deputy Minister of Health Le Duc Luan and the Ministry of Health working delegation continued to be present in Ninh Binh to inspect the actual progress of the project implementation of facility 2 of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. Infrastructure items at the Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital project facility 2 have been basically completed.
Mr. Hoang Cuong - Head of the Project Management Board of Medical Works - said that the Project Management Board has seriously implemented the directions of the Government and the Ministry of Health, accelerated the construction progress and purchased equipment, and closely supervised the entire implementation process.
Every week, the Project Management Board organizes meetings with contractors to promptly grasp difficulties and obstacles and report to the leaders of the Ministry of Health to remove them.
To date, construction has been completed. The Project Management Board and contractors are handing over infrastructure to the hospital to arrange departments. The Bach Mai Hospital project, facility 2, has basically been handed over; and the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital project, facility 2, is expected to be completed and handed over in February 2026.
Regarding the fire prevention and fighting system (PCCC), the Project Management Board has completed the adjusted design dossier and sent it to Department C07 for appraisal, as a basis for deploying completion construction before February 10, 2026.
Contractors have prepared materials and equipment for construction immediately after approval. The goal is to complete the fire prevention and fighting system to be eligible for acceptance in March 2026.
At the same time, the Project Management Board is coordinating with the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment to complete environmental permit procedures - a mandatory condition before putting the hospital into official operation.
Regarding medical equipment, many important devices have been supplied and installed, including: 512-slice, 256-slice, 128-slice computed tomography (CT) machine; 3D Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); Digital background scanning (DSA) system; Axis-wide X-ray machine, breast X-ray machine; Ultrasound machine, emergency bed, treatment bed; Diatomaging system, electrocardiogram machine; Modern operating lamp system...
At the time of inspection, engineers had completed the installation and were adjusting and operating the CT, MRI, DSA, and X-ray systems at Bach Mai Hospital facility 2. The contractor is also completing procedures to apply for radiation safety permits to ensure safe and effective operation.
