The opening match of the 2025 National U21 qualifiers took place at the PVF Youth Football Training Center with a highlight match between the home team PVF and U21 Dong A Thanh Hoa. The match was tense from the first minutes with many fierce disputes.
An alarming situation occurred in the 36th minute when Thai Ba Dat and Truong Thanh Nam collided strongly in an air combat. The direct collision in the head area caused Ba Dat to lose consciousness and had to leave the field immediately. Meanwhile, Thanh Nam still tried to play but showed signs of dizziness.
Ba Dat has since regained consciousness and temporarily stabilized, but still needs further monitoring to prevent serious injuries.
Despite losing a man early, PVF still controlled the game and won 2-0 thanks to goals from Hai Nam and Hoang Anh - who replaced Ba Dat after injury.
Thai Ba Dat is a familiar face at all levels of the national team, having played for U19, U20 and is currently a member of U23 Vietnam. He was born in 2005 in Thanh Hoa and grew up at PVF training center.
On the other side of the front line, Truong Thanh Nam is an experienced player, has played in the V.League for Thanh Hoa and demonstrated significant professional ability.
