Previously, Quang Nam club was the host of the Thien Long Tournament (TLT S8) Thaigroup Cup 2025.
The tournament has the participation of 4 other teams: Ninh Binh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Da Nang and international guest Korean Students.
This is an annual tournament before the new season to help teams review their forces, test the foreign players, rookies and perfect the playing style to have the best preparation when entering the tournament.
In the opening match, Quang Nam drew 1-1 with Da Nang, while Ninh Binh held the Korean Student to a 2-2 draw.
One day after the match, Quang Nam club suddenly announced that they would not participate in V.League 2025-2026. It is known that the leaders of this team have met with the coaching staff, the players are currently under contract and are on probation at the Quang team to make this announcement.
Recently, Quang Nam club sent an official dispatch to the organizing committee of the Thien Long Tournament (TLT S8) Thaigroup Cup 2025 to withdraw.
After receiving an official dispatch from the Quang team, the organizing committee decided to cancel all results of the first matches of the tournament taking place on July 20.
The tournament will also change the regulations when there are only 4 participating teams: Ninh Binh, Da Nang, Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Korean Students.
The teams will compete in a round-robin, the first and second teams will play the final, the two teams ranked 3rd and 4th will play the third-place match. The prize structure for individual and collective titles will remain unchanged.
