On the afternoon of May 6, at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC), HCMC women's club had a friendly match with Damode FC. This is a match in the preparation plan for the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women's Semi-finals.
The HCMC Women's Club started off off responsibly and unexpectedly conceded a goal in the 12th minute. However, just 3 minutes later, veteran center back Chuong Thi Kieu quickly scored, bringing the match back to balance.

In the second half, the turning point of the match came from a classy free kick by captain Huynh Nhu. The shot from more than 25m away sent the hook ball into the far corner, helping the HCMC women's club take a 2-1 lead.
In the 62nd minute, the striker from Tra Vinh continued to shine with an aggressive dribble into the middle and a tricky shot from close to the penalty area, completing a double and sealing a 3-1 victory for the HCMC women's club.

In the last 15 minutes of the match, coach Kim Chi began to gradually take the pillars off, giving opportunities to many young players. Foreign striker Sabrina Marie Cabrera and goalkeeper Quach Thu Em were also kept on the field to maintain cohesion in the squad.

Regarding the personnel situation before the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women's Semi-final, coach Kim Chi confirmed that overseas Vietnamese player Chelsea Le will not be able to participate.
Meanwhile, another overseas Vietnamese player, Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi, was given the opportunity to practice with the Vietnamese women's team that is gathering in Hanoi before joining the Ho Chi Minh City women's club.
The HCMC women's team will face Wuhan Jiangda (China) in the semi-finals of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League for women. This match takes place on May 21.
