Initially, referee Tran Dinh Thinh was in charge of this task, but later, Mr. Thinh suffered a calf tear, so referee Tran Ngoc Nho took over for the second half. Before that, Mr. Nho was assigned to be the table referee. Mr. Thinh also stayed at Thong Nhat Stadium to be the table referee until the end of the match.

The match between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi Police took place at a fast pace and there were many collisions, so the referees had to work continuously. Notably, in the second minute of extra time of the second half, referee Tran Ngoc Nho also gave a red card to player Trong Long of Hanoi Police.
