On the afternoon of November 15, the Disciplinary Board of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) imposed a four-match ban and a fine of VND20 million on two players involved in a brawl after a match in the First Division on the evening of November 14, namely Vu Van Son (HCMC Youth) and Nguyen Xuan Nam (PVF-CAND).
By the evening of November 15, player Vu Van Son officially spoke up and apologized for his actions.
He wrote on his personal page: "After the incident yesterday (November 14) in the tunnel of Thong Nhat Stadium, I myself also thought and realized my fault for not being able to control myself and allowing the above incident to happen, damaging the image of the tournament, the club, Vietnamese football and leaving an ugly image in the eyes of fans.
Therefore, I would like to send my sincere apologies to VFF and Vietnamese football fans. This is a valuable lesson for me and also a lesson for me to change, to become a decent person before becoming a good player. I would like to thank everyone for sending their regards and encouragement to me, thank you and apologize to everyone very much."
Vu Van Son said that the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club may submit an appeal: "I also heard that the club will submit an appeal. Being banned so many times makes me very sad. But I am also lucky to have the encouragement and comfort of the leaders, coaches, and teammates. My health is still fine. Today I still practice normally but with light intensity because I just played the whole match yesterday."
Previously, on the evening of November 14, after the match between Ho Chi Minh City Youth and PVF-CAND in the 2024-2025 National First Division, two players Nguyen Xuan Nam (PVF-CAND) and Vu Van Son (Ho Chi Minh City Youth) had a fight.
According to the conclusion from the VFF Disciplinary Board, Xuan Nam was the aggressor in this incident.
