On the morning of January 1, fans were present very early at the Nguyen Co Thach post office (Hanoi) to directly receive tickets for the 2024 ASEAN Cup final match between Vietnam and Thailand. These are tickets that fans successfully booked through the OneU online ticketing system.
Compared to the group stage matches, tickets for the semi-finals and finals were issued in a very short time (about 2 days before the match), so fans had to go directly to the post office to receive tickets, instead of having them delivered to their homes. In addition, spectators can receive tickets directly in Viet Tri city (Phu Tho).
A fan shared: "I have been watching the Vietnamese team for 10 years, this is the first time I have received tickets in this way. It was already very difficult to get tickets, now continuing to queue to receive tickets, it really takes a lot of time, because people also spontaneously queue, there is a situation of pushing and shoving...".
According to Lao Dong, at 10am, hundreds of fans were present at Nguyen Co Thach post office waiting to receive tickets. As noon approached, the crowd grew larger.
The post office gate is open enough for one person to pass through. The staff calls about 5-6 people at a time - according to each denomination (500,000 VND, 700,000 VND and 1 million VND) - to come inside to receive tickets. Fans need to present their ID card and check against the pre-printed list to verify accuracy.
Notably, after receiving the tickets, the area outside the post office was filled with "ticket brokers" waiting to bargain and buy tickets from fans. Many people agreed to sell the tickets to earn the difference.
