On the evening of November 22, Dak Lak province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the province's founding. Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, leaders of central ministries and branches; representatives of leaders of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Phu Yen provinces, Ho Chi Minh City and international friends.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee - gave an emotional speech, recognizing the contributions of the Party Committee, government, army and people of all ethnic groups at the ceremony to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the province's founding (November 22, 1904 - November 22, 2024).
In the late 19th century, French colonialists gradually established a yoke of domination over the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands. To establish the right to rule and organize administratively over Dak Lak.
In 1899, the Governor-General of Indochina issued a Decree establishing the Dak Lak Administrative Agency headquartered in Buon Don. In 1904, the Governor-General of Indochina issued a Decree establishing a new province under the administrative and political authority of the Resident General of Annam, named Dak Lak province.
This event has legal significance, establishing Vietnam's complete national sovereignty and territory, and is a historical milestone marking the establishment of Dak Lak province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh affirmed: "During the 120-year journey of formation, from a wild, poor land... with only "sun and wind. However, Dak Lak today has transformed itself, grown strongly, with economic and social development, and the material and spiritual lives of the ethnic minorities in the province have been improved."
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh acknowledged and commended the efforts and achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Lak province have achieved in recent years.
