According to the doctor of the Vietnam U22 team, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac only has to miss 6-8 weeks of competition. He will be absent from the 2025 CFA China Team friendly tournament taking place at the end of March.
However, if he recovers well, the player born in 2004 can return to play at the end of the 2024-2025 V.League season with the Hanoi Police Club and next June.
Previously, during the training session of U22 Vietnam on the afternoon of March 12, Nguyen Dinh Bac was injured, immediately went to take a film and was determined to have a broken big toe in his right foot.
He was initially diagnosed with a 3-month break, which means he will not play for the rest of the 2024-2025 season. However, the results later showed that the striker's injury was not as serious as expected.
Therefore, Dinh Bac is still likely to participate in the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers taking place in September. This helps coach Kim Sang-sik ease the worries about the strength of U22 Vietnam.
Nguyen Dinh Bac was born in 2004, played 15 matches in V.League 2024-2025, including 9 starting matches and scored 1 goal. The striker from Nghe An is one of the stars of U22 Vietnam when he regularly plays at the club level, and was called up to the national team to participate in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
Coach Kim Sang-sik also gave Dinh Bac a few opportunities during training sessions, or focused on friendly matches.
