Accordingly, the organizing committee of the National Second Division and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) agreed to let the match between Vinh Long and Kon Tum in the National Second Division continue at 9:30 am on June 18. The match will only last for 7 more minutes of official play and could be an extra time.
At the time of stopping the match (taking place on the afternoon of March 17), the clock reached the 83rd minute when a prolonged heavy rain appeared. According to FIFA regulations, the match will be suspended for about 30 minutes at once. But after this period, the rain will continue and will be even heavier than at first. Referee Nguyen Anh Vu decided to temporarily suspend and postpone the match for the remainder of the match.
The announcement of the Vietnam Football Federation said: "Due to heavy rain, strong winds and flooded waters, the match was suspended in the 83rd minute. After 2 30-minute postponements, the match could not continue, so the match supervisor made a record of the match's temporary suspension. The match will continue at 9:30 am on June 18, 2025".
The home team Vinh Long is having trouble with only 8 points after 12 rounds and ranked 7th in Group B. Kon Tum played better with 14 points after 12 rounds and ranked 5th.
