On April 25, within the framework of the training session to prepare for the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship held in China, the Vietnam women's futsal team had a second friendly match against the Japan futsal team.
Against an opponent with expertise and good ball control skills (currently 10th in the FIFA futsal rankings), the Vietnam women's futsal team actively played defensively.
However, in the 13th minute, from a corner kick on the left, Eguchi Mika took a direct shot into the goal of the Vietnam futsal team and Ikadai Risa skillfully touched the ball to open the score for Japan.
After conceding the goal, the Vietnamese girls played more focused to seek opportunities but were unsuccessful.
In the second half, in the 21st minute, Iwasaki Yuka successfully finished, raising the score to 2-0 for Japan. After that, the home team continued to score 2 goals in the 24th and 28th minutes.
Hoping to find a goal, the Vietnam women's futsal team deployed a power-play strategy with 8 minutes left in the match. After many attacks, by the time the match was only 31 seconds away, the defense of the Japanese futsal team had been broken.
From a situation of sending the ball down the sideline and coordinating cross-coordination inside, Thu Xuan finished accurately to score an honorary goal for the Vietnam women's futsal team.
In the end, the Vietnam women's futsal team suffered a 1-4 defeat to Japan. Despite the loss, the Vietnam women's futsal team has achieved positive results when having the opportunity to experiment with many teams and tactics to respond to different situations, aiming for the final round of the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship in Inner Mongolia (China) in May.
