Thailand national futsal team
The Thai futsal team is one of the strongest teams in the continent, having participated in 17 Asian tournaments before, winning the runner-up position 3 times.
Two years ago, the Thai team lost to Iran in the final at home, so this year they are very determined. In the qualifiers, the Thai team ranked first in Group B, with striker Muhammad Osamanmusa scoring 6 goals.
Compared to SEA Games 33, the Thai futsal team has a change on the coaching bench. Mr. Miguel Rodrigo parted ways with the team and Rakphol Sainetngam - who helped the Malaysian futsal team reach the finals - was brought up to replace him.
The Thai futsal team has reached the knockout round in the last 9 Asian tournaments. They are the number 1 candidate to win the top spot in Group B at the upcoming Asian tournament.
Vietnam Futsal Team
An impressive qualifying campaign helped the Vietnamese futsal team to top Group E with maximum points, scoring 20 goals and conceding only 3 goals in victories against Lebanon, China and Hong Kong (China).
Nguyen Thinh Phat and Tu Minh Quang respectively scored 5 and 4 goals, both of whom are named in the squad participating in the Asian tournament in Indonesia.
Head coach Diego Giustozzi will now aim to maintain that form in the finals as Vietnam seeks a ticket to the quarterfinals.
In history, the Vietnamese futsal team has participated in the Asian Championship 7 times before, the best achievement being ranked 4th in 2016.
In the upcoming Asian tournament, the Vietnamese futsal team is rated quite highly, only behind Thailand in Group B. The team has also defeated the Lebanese and Kuwaiti teams in recent matches.
The opportunity to advance for the Vietnamese futsal team is very high, because they have qualified for the quarter-finals and semi-finals in the last 5 consecutive tournaments.
Kuwait futsal team
The Kuwaiti futsal team is only a short distance from winning a direct ticket to the next round as the top team of Group A after a 2-2 draw with Australia in the last group stage match, making Australia top of the group thanks to a better goal difference.
With each scoring 4 goals in the qualifiers, Saleh Alfadhel and Abdulaziz Alsarraj will be notable players when the Kuwaiti futsal team aims for their first title, after their last semi-final appearance 12 years ago.
This will be their third consecutive Asian Futsal Championship finals, after missing the 2016 and 2018 tournaments.
Lebanon national futsal team
In the qualifiers, the Lebanese futsal team won against the Chinese team 2-1, drew with Hong Kong (China) 1-1 and lost to the Vietnamese futsal team 0-4. They ranked 2nd in the group and won tickets to the final round.
This is the 13th time the Lebanese futsal team has participated in the Asian finals. Their best record before is 7 times in the quarterfinals. They will have to try their best to have the opportunity to compete for tickets to continue with teams from Thailand, Vietnam and Kuwait.
According to the schedule, in the opening match of Group B taking place on the afternoon of January 27, the Vietnamese futsal team will meet Kuwait, and Thailand will face the Lebanese team.
