The 2024 AFF Cup will feature 10 teams, divided into two groups of five. The teams will play a round-robin format, with home and away matches based on the draw. Vietnam will play two home matches, against Indonesia on December 15 and Myanmar on December 21.
Because My Dinh Stadium could not ensure timely maintenance of the pitch due to the event schedule, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) selected Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho Province) as an alternative home stadium and was approved by the organizing committee. The capacity of Viet Tri Stadium is about 20,000 seats. Currently, the home stadium of the Vietnam team has not been determined in case the team passes the group stage.
A notable opponent of Vietnam in Group B, Indonesia, has chosen Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta as its home ground. This is one of the most famous stadiums in Southeast Asia, known as the "fire pan" with a capacity of up to 150,000 people, now reduced to more than 77,000 people.
Laos will play at the Laos National Stadium in Vientiane, which has a capacity of 25,000. Laos will host Vietnam on December 9 and the Philippines on December 15. Myanmar will play at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, which has a capacity of 50,000. Myanmar will face Indonesia on December 9 and Laos on December 18.
The Philippines has chosen the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila as its home stadium, the smallest of the 2024 ASEAN Cup venues, with a capacity of just under 13,000. The Philippines' two home matches are against Myanmar on December 12 and Vietnam on December 18.
In Group A, Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia have chosen large stadiums as their home stadiums. Thailand will play at Rajamangala with a capacity of over 50,000, Malaysia will choose Bukit Jalil with a capacity of about 100,000, and Cambodia's Olympic Stadium will have a capacity of 50,000.
Timor Leste has registered Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi as their home stadium, with a capacity of about 22,000 seats, which has been approved by the organizing committee. Hang Day Stadium is currently the home stadium of Hanoi Club and Hanoi Police.
