Meanwhile, coach Velizar Popov emphasized that Lucao is the piece that The Cong Viettel is waiting for.
"We need a striker who can take advantage of opportunities, put pressure on the opponent's defense and have experience in the V.League. Lucao fully meets those factors.
He not only has the skills to score goals but also plays as a team member, knows how to coordinate and has a good tactical mindset. I believe Lucao will help us solve the problem of finishing and open up many new attack options," said the Bulgarian coach.
Lucao has the ability to press, fight and score diversely in the penalty area. The ability of the striker born in 1991 has been proven in the V.League for many seasons.
In the Hai Phong shirt of V.League 2024-2025, Lucao's 14 goals and 3 assists are an important fulcrum to help the Hai Phong team stay in the league soon. In addition, he, Tien Linh and Alan both won the Golden Boot award.
