According to the announced format, 9 teams including Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will be divided into two groups.
Meanwhile, Brunei and Timor Leste have to face each other in the play-off round to compete for the remaining official participation. This match will also be drawn to determine the home and away players in each match.
