Water and Tea
Water and herbal tea can help support digestion. Water is key to hydration and can actually increase the feeling of bloating immediately, but this condition will improve after an hour or two. Popular teas that can reduce bloating include peppermint, chamomile, and ginger.
Exercise
Physical activity can promote regular bowel movements, release excess gas, and improve constipation. Light exercise, such as walking for 10 to 15 minutes after meals, can reduce symptoms of abdominal bloating.
Fiber
Eating enough fiber is important to prevent constipation, which causes bloating. Add fiber to your diet gradually, but don't overdo it, as some fiber supplements can worsen symptoms.
Massage
Some people find that abdominal massage can help stimulate the intestines and reduce bloating symptoms. You can try massaging your abdomen just above the hip bones in a circular motion with light pressure. You should not massage if it causes any discomfort or pain.
Heating Pad
Heat can help relax the muscles in the intestines. Placing a heating pad on your abdomen can reduce discomfort and swelling associated with bloating. Alternatively, a warm water bottle can be used instead of a heating pad. In either case, protect your skin from the heat with a cloth or other item.
Warm Bath
A warm bath can help you relax and reduce stress levels, aiding in better digestive function.
