On November 14, a working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor led by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - worked with the People's Committee of Ben Tre province on the implementation of the project to build a Trade Union institution in Ben Tre province.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Van Nghia - Head of the Trade Union Institution Project Management Board, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that by September 2024, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the People's Committee of Ben Tre province had agreed on the location for the Trade Union Institution project in Ben Tre at the land plot near Giao Long Industrial Park (Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province). However, this land plot has not yet been cleared, so the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested that Ben Tre authorities speed up the handover of the site to the investor.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requests the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee to consider directing the Chau Thanh District People's Committee and relevant agencies to speed up the appraisal of the detailed construction planning project at a scale of 1/500 for the Trade Union Institution project in Ben Tre as proposed by the Trade Union Institution Project Management Board. Immediately after the project's detailed construction planning is approved, the Trade Union Institution Project Management Board will carry out the investment procedures for the project and ensure the goal of starting the project in 2025.
Mr. Tran Van Trung - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Ben Tre province - said that on the land where the Trade Union social housing project is being implemented in Ben Tre, there are still assets (fences, piles, etc.) of Thuan Phong Agricultural Products Processing Company Limited. Up to now, this enterprise has not handled it itself, therefore, it is recommended that the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district take the lead in handling the assets on the above land in case it does not handle and dismantle the assets on the land itself.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairwoman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee - requested Chau Thanh District People's Committee to coordinate with departments and branches to carry out the site clearance work for the Trade Union social housing project in Ben Tre. Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee agreed on the schedule, striving to start construction in October 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - agreed with the People's Committee of Ben Tre province, and at the same time, requested the Trade Union Institution Project Management Board to coordinate with departments, branches and the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district to speed up the progress of the Trade Union social housing project.
On the same afternoon, the working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor had a working session with the People's Committee of Tien Giang province on the construction and implementation of the Trade Union Institution project in Tien Giang.
At the meeting, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested the People's Committee of Tien Giang province to speed up the investment progress of the technical infrastructure system around the boundary of the Trade Union Institution project in Tien Giang to serve the project connection work (roads, rainwater drainage system, wastewater drainage system, etc.) according to the detailed planning of Binh Tao residential area.
In case it is not possible to immediately invest in the connecting traffic system according to the planning, it is recommended that the People's Committee of Tien Giang province consider investing in upgrading the existing temporary road from Tien Giang Specialized High School to the boundary of the land with a minimum road cross-section of 13.5m to create an entrance for residents of the Trade Union Institution area. In addition, it is recommended that the People's Committee of Tien Giang province hand over the remaining land area (about 1.92ha) so that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has sufficient legal basis to immediately invest in the housing project in the Trade Union Institution area planning.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also requested the People's Committee of Tien Giang province to direct the Department of Construction and the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Tien Giang Provincial Police) to coordinate to speed up the appraisal of the feasibility study report of the adjusted project and give opinions to complete the design documents...
