Mr. Le Van Minh - Chairman of EVNHCMC Trade Union - said that the 110kV Cho Lon transformer station was built and put into operation in 1966, using high and medium voltage outdoor equipment with a large land area. After 58 years of operation, the outdated and degraded equipment requires regular repair and maintenance.
With the policy of modernizing the power grid and improving the reliability of power supply to Districts 5, 10 and 11, which are the economic and cultural centers of the city, EVNHCMC has decided to invest in renovating stations and replacing outdated equipment with modern equipment with advanced technology.
The project “Renovation of Cho Lon 110kV Transformer Station” is a Group B power industry project, with a total investment of more than 182 billion VND, invested by EVNHCMC. The project started construction in June 2023, and was accepted and put into operation at the end of October 2024.
The project includes construction of a 2-storey building with installation of 110kV and 24kV GIS equipment; a computerized protection control system with remote control capability.
The renovation of the 110kV Cho Lon transformer station using new technology with a small, compact size contributes to saving land use area to be able to install a third 110kV/24kV transformer to increase the power supply capacity for the area in the coming time, in the context of increasingly scarce land fund in the city center.
Speaking at the ceremony to place the emulation project plaque, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union - emphasized that the plaque-placing ceremony of the project "Renovation of Cho Lon 110kV Transformer Station" is a very meaningful event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Electricity Industry's Traditional Day (December 21, 1954 - December 21, 2024). The achievement of this project is the result of the efforts and high sense of responsibility of the collective of employees and union members of EVNHCMC.
On this occasion, Vietnam Electricity Trade Union and EVNHCMC Trade Union awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the implementation of the project "Renovation of Cho Lon 110kV Transformer Station".
This is a competitive project of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam Electricity Industry (December 21, 1954 - December 21, 2024).
